#lestrade is so flawless #imagine if you were this big shot detective and for almost all of your cases you had to call in somebody else for HELP #in front of your own team #i can’t even imagine having to dedicate every case to sherlock holmes #when sherlock says ‘you need me’ and lestrade says ‘god help me i do’ #it just breaks my heart #and here is his boss telling him CALLING HIM AN IDIOT in front of his team BECAUSE of his team #and because he has to call in for help #because of sherlock holmes #and after that before he is FORCED to arrest sherlock he CALLS JOHN TO WARN HIM #even though he basically just got chewed out by his boss and humiliated because of the great sherlock holmes #he tries to protect him #ugh help how do i hold all of these lestrade feels

barafundlebay: #motherfucking lestrade feels okay god do not even get me started #this incredibly humble man who only cares for justice who only cares for doing good #who doesn’t care for his name so much as he cares for the good he can do with it #the lives he can save #this man has only ever wanted to do good in the world and maybe just make a living and be fucking happy #be able to sleep at night #so he isn’t really hurt and wounded when he has to call in sherlock even though the man grates him and insults him #he tells himself he’s saving lives and he’s even sort of helping sherlock even though he’d #never think of it as that #he just knows sherlock needs the work and needs a distraction because he’s seen sherlock before #he saw him strung out and thin and raging and hurt and high #and he knows better than anyone what this means to him #even better than mycroft and john and everyone else close to sherlock #he’s seen this #so he’s helping one more person #and suddenly he’s been called incompetent and searching for higher rates on his #closed cases #and he’s accused of cheating and lying and helping a criminal #a criminal who was maybe one of the best men he’s ever known #and no one will listen to him but he’s just so beaten down and weary #and he feels like maybe he didn’t do any good at all #he feels like he’s being told he hasn’t made a damn difference #god my heart just fucking aches for this man this unassuming man who above all wants to help in the only way he knows how #feelings blog
